There has to be some moving pieces here that we do not know about.

Why would anyone pay $8 for our corn and let it set and rot for 3 plus years? Does anyone really know how much China has of what? Maybe they did give a high price to let it rot as they have built empty cities but again where is the logic? China has trillions of our dollars in reserves which they could spend to procure tangible assets. They know how to manipulate the markets to lower the prices for their gain. I really doubt they let it just sit and rot. Also, even if they had nothing left why would they divulge it and cause the prices for what they want to go higher? Just as in oil fundamentals seem to mean little but speculation of what prices should be seems to be the biggest driver in market swings today.
