Subject: RE: Fertilizer Banding

SC MN
After researching for the last 10 years and having a chance to operate a friends soil warrior for two falls, I have just purchased a soil warrior. The machine is built like a rock, handles many different conditions, rolls right over rocks and offers great flexibility in seedbed prep/fertilizer placement with the deep cog wheel in the fall and the shallow wavy coulters in the spring.

I will be cutting my p & k rates by 20% to start with ( university data says I can cut by 30-50% when banding but I need to build my levels up a little more before I cut that much). Fall pass will d some deep tillage to break up the plowpan and the spring pass will freshen the strips before planting. VRT Fertilizer will be applied both passes.
