I got my own domain name from GoDaddy which is about $12/yr and now have my email through zoho.com, which is free at the present time..  Then I use Thunderbird  for email on the computers and just set up an email account on the cell phone.  Don't think there is any spying going on this way.   Plus you can have your own email domain    such as     [email protected]
