Subject: RE: Gap

West Salem, Illinois
Looks good to me but for whatever reason grandpa always used real stiff wire on his and than instead of the twisters he would wire small hedge posts in for wire stays, also agree with the others they had loops on both ends to remove from the hole when necessary.

When I was little I hated those gaps with a passion! He had a big gate that had a wheel on it and when we would pull up to it I'd about tear the door off the truck to get out and open it, but when we would pull up to a wire gap I'd would just sit there until grandpa would ask if I was going to get the gate or not. On my pastures I don't have any wire gaps and all of the barb wire is at the scrapers! I replaced every bit with hi tensile, we still argue about my smooth fences!
