We feed all our mother cows on the ground. Usually on snow or frozen ground. Usually about 2 weeks in the spring with heavy mud have to go to a Sandy spot that is dry. Right now the cow ration is about 15 lbs alfalfa, 10 lbs. straw, 15 lbs corn silage. TMR has really decreased our winter cow maintenance costs and I feel increased entire herd body condition.
