Eastern Half of Kansas | Locally here the barn is 3% the first $1,000 dollars and 2% there after, that is cow bulls calves feeders for commission, plus yardage, insurance, inspection and beef check off.
Most all barns in eastern ks are 2-3% on cows and bulls, breds and slaughter.
Have at least 3 barns 60-100 miles away that are $7-10 a head on calves for commission plus yardage, insurance, and beef check off. The one I use has a sliding scale. Like $6.50 a head for draft size of 30 head or more. Then goes to about $9-10 a head for 1-9 head draft.
It was getting out of hand on first barn when pot load feeders were bringing $1,800 a head or so. | |
