Other countries, like Canada, had been able to take advantage of "the paid not to plant corn programs" of previous administrations. By that time I was committed to full-time farming. and hit with Farm Bills that followed.
"Loose shoes" Butz also had tax problems which I don't remember hearing about.
A followup question about it being different this time: are there still programs like loan rates and deficiency payments?
