jackson county WI | We usually feed Holstein but have a lot of forage this year so I am feeding coloreds for time being. I have just been getting from sale barn and I think the biggest group I got so far has been 16. There just isn't large cow calf guys in our area. I have put 80 together from angus to Herefords, out of 80 I ended up with 2 duds, but as spring is getting closer I'm getting more nervous about trying to get the yard filled. My next group I would be able to take a semi load rather than pick away at sale barn and thought I would like to try a load like this once and see how it goes. Problem is it seems impossible in our local area. Has anybody had luck trucking cattle in from the west?
Could find multiple loads of Holstein in matter of minutes on the telephone, but seems to be different story for coloreds in my local area. Any advise on where to look be appreciated. | |
