Subject: Acetochlor or Metolachlor

Yale, Michigan
We're talking about using a 1-pass pre-emerge program for conventional corn. Surestart II @ 3PTS, Atrazine at 1-1.5 #, and either spiking it with an acetochlor or metolachlor at a half rate. We can get generic metolachlor (Me-Too-Lachlor II) really cheap as I'm sure most of you know. My question is, since SureStart has an acetochlor (about half rate), is it always better to spike it with additional acetochlor or is metolachlor acceptable? Thanks in advance
