Using Excel you can place your names in one column.

Then select all the names in that column.

Now click on DATA and select Text to Columns

Choose to Delimited and in the next window choose space, click finish.  If John and Sue are John & Sue Smith you'll have 4 columns, one of which is &.

That gets them separated.
