Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | redoak..you remember the 80's well. I just got started in the early 80's. Didn't have debt but then didn't have much for assets or cash either. Looking back, I was glad I did not start out 5 years earlier. Lot of guys who did suffered from the high interest rates from either buying equipment, land , or taking on too much land in the late 70's that wouldn't work in the 80's.
Only thing different this time around is low interest rates and crop insurance might lessen the blow but a lot of other inputs went too far and too fast that haven't come back in line yet. |
