Life's but a walking shadow | I don't doubt that if all the tax breaks and subsidies (direct & indirect) to the fossil fuel industries were removed then ethanol probably could compete but what assurance to you have that Cruz & a republican controlled Congress won't just eliminate the mandate and retain big oil's subsidies. That's just not how Congress works.
Now if Cruz had used his time in the Senate this past year passing a bill to eliminate oil industry subsidies then suggested to Iowa corn farmers to eliminate the mandate I might be inclined to believe him.
