Subject: RE: Interest rates on operating notes

west central MN

I know some of the banks around me have cut the price on what they figure for corn and soybeans for the 2016 crop. I know some are using $3.00 for corn if the farmer doesn't have any forward contracted. That isn't much lower then where it has ended up for the last couple of years around here if the farmer hasn't had any contracted. I think last year the spring corn price was $4.15 so it was higher then the current Dec.16 bid and beans are definitely lower then they were a year ago. There are also some farmers that have lost money the last year or two and now have more debt to service.
