I do my own every 3-4 years. 1 sample per 5-10 acres and most fields are contour stripped so zones are out of the question. I like using Waypoint Analytical (A & L Labs) in Atlantic Iowa. Most times I just get the basic test for $8 each (pH, OM, P, K, Ca, Mg, etc). On a handful of samples I get the more extensive test with all the micros that costs $16 each.
