Subject: RE: Air cart behind planter

Strathcona, mn
Putting down map and potash. About a 10-40-50 blend +\- I made some dispenser tubes that bolt into the hole where the tube for the granular boxes would go. I have the flex tube hook up to a piece of pipe that is cut to about 45 degree angle and then the tip bent to throw the Fert off to the side about 2 inches. It leaves a nice band right to the outside of the gauge wheel track. There is very little incorporatin but yields check out fine. There is data from different sources showing very similar yield response to 0-2 Fert as well as 2-2 fert. I've had some of my best corn yields ever applying Fert this way. I didn't want to fight Fert openers in wet springs. More discs churning up wet gumbo in front of gauge wheels equals a mess.
