I would personally prefer the gooseneck so that I could just chain it down and get on running. One thing to consider is that if you have a GCVW on your truck and gooseneck of over 26,000lbs and being that far from home you now have a different book of rules to go by. Not sure Missouri would be a big concern but crossing the river in to Illinois and you will get no mercy. If you have a 3/4 ton truck and single wheel gooseneck you could let it roll with no worries.

If you decide to just pull it I would get on Hwy 36 as said above. 36 is good traveling most all the way across the state. Also Hwy 50 would be a good route but is a little farther south. Hwy 50 would take you right through the middle of my neighborhood. Good luck and enjoy the scenery!
