Subject: RE: CNH Combine tracks

Louise, TX
I have a 9120 on tracks. We farm in raised beds. I had problems with the 36" tracks rolling up due to running in furrows and wearing the rubber off of the bogie wheels. Before this last year switched to 30" tracks and had bogie wheels covered with the poly. After doing this no wear on tracks or bogies.
The tracks are rough on gravel roads and potholes, but they are way smoother in the field than the R2 rubber we usually run on combines here.
Like others have said they will walk on water. That is main reason I bought my combine since we harvest during hurricane season here along the Gulf of Mexico.
The other reason is weight carrying ability. A 450 bu. hopper and 12r38" geringhoff (weights 11,000 lbs.) was the other. I don't think single 900's will hold up, and duals straddling 6 wide rows makes moving on the road difficult.
