Subject: RE: CPS Riser,in-furrow?

East central Iowa, Camanche, Iowa
P is P but the issue is availability when the corn plant needs it. That is why it is important to have it available and in the right form especially up to V5 when the plant is determining the maximum potential yield (kernel set). Soil test are a chemical prediction of how much P is available at room temperature (70°) using two different strengths of chemical (Strong and weak Bray test). The plant is not going to wait for P to become available, it will make it's determination of kernel set with what is available at that time, not when the soil warms up.
