If your soil test levels are above threshold (here that would be around 20ppm on a Bray1 or Mehlich III) than the chance of seeing a response to banding of P (other than the potential of a starter effect) would be highly unlikely.
The probability of seeing a consistent response to banding increases with decreasing soil test values.
