Subject: RE: Corn herbicide

South Dakota
Surestart (same exact product as tripleflex) is not a product that I would recommend in many situations.

-carryover issues (alfalfa) ---I have seen this often where a guy plants corn and tries alfalfa 2 years later and has major issues.
-crop tolerance----I would be worried about yield damage/crop response from the hornet, ALS chemistry in corn is outdated and unneeded as we have better safer options.

---performance. The nuts and bolts of this product is acetochlor which is a good chemical for grasses and small seedeed broadleaves. Buying harness surpass or harness extra at a good price is a much more valuable way to buy acetochlor. Adding a PPO (sharpen/verdict), HPPD (Callisto/balance), atrazine, etc would be a better product to go with a group 15 than the Hornet would in my opinion.

---- I would recommend trying verdict & atrazine OR Lumax OR H. Extra.

What are your driver weeds? SW minnesota----i'm assuming you are in conventional tillage and you are doing a 2 pass chem program? That will help us know which way to steer you-----(2 pass vs 1 pass)
