If you know someone with a tile plow have them come in & ake a pass along the edge of the field as deep as they can go. Cuts off the roots that are taking water & nutrients away from your crops. Not a cure-all but it helps for a few years. "Here", any tree that's not growing in a yard i considered a weed.
