Heart of Illinois | First time I've ever been on the kitchen table portion of agtalk, but I figure this is the best place to ask. I'm in the process of buying a house. I have a great farm dog that lives outside and has 44 acres to roam. Where we are moving has room too but there are closer neighbors and one family is scared to death of dogs and like to sue. Yikes.
The previous home owners installed invisible fence brand electric fence but are taking the transmitter and collars with them when they leave. I called the company to see what it'd cost for a new set and it was going to be close to 800 bucks for transmitter and collar. I know there are cheaper brands. Does anyone use something cheaper? Work? You think it'll keep a 100lb lab mix away from the new neighbors?
