Farmers expanded their use of irrigation legally and now are being told to shut down without compensation. Not a pretty picture.
And fisheries in Alaska expanded their fishing/processing capacities legally and now have to work with fishing seasons.
Oil companies and refiners expanded their production and processing of leaded gasoline legally, then had to redo all of their systems to take the lead and other undesirables out. And had to go to ultra-low sulfur diesel.
It's a slippery slope. We love it when the gov't mandates they use our products (corn based ethanol) but hate it when the same gov't comes in and takes away some of our toys. |
