West Lafayette IN | Fall of 2016 cash price locally is $3.77. A bag of seed to produce that corn costs $300 and covers 2.5 acres. The first 32 bushels of corn off of ever acre covers seed cost. YES, to answer your question, YES $300 is "out of line" and not reasonable. I'm not saying I can get it any cheaper, but if we all just say no, maybe the seed companies will realize that they need to rethink their pricing. | |
