S.E. Iowa | We use woodchips for our outside portion of our lots. This weekend we dug out 5 inches of manure / sloppy stuff and spread it. Put a foot or so of new back in. Dug the sloppy stuff out with a wheeled skid loader if that kind of tells how well they work. This will last for a year. Emerald ash borer will keep the supply of chips going. The city has a large pile of chips and they leave a loader there for us to load. We have gotten 12 semi loads our selves and the guy hauling has gotten several. They have had to hire someone to haul them away in the past so every one wins. | |
