David Loberg Northeast Nebraska | Also, the numbers I'm talking are summer fill fertilizer. The "mark up" is generally just their cost of storage facilities to stockpile it in summer/winter until crop season. Everyone says grain bins can make you money, but not nearly as much as fertilizer tanks on the farm I feel. Every now and then there will be a fluke where I'll be backwards in the market, but 9 out of 10 years, pulling fertilizer the previous August will gain me 20-80 ton, even after figuring the cost of interest. Plus, it's so nice to have it on hand, rather than waiting 4 hours to pull a load at the terminal during spring rush. Our setup is nothing fancy, just a Sioux rubber/steel containment center and used tanks we bought on auction, but it works!
