Kevin, at the really bad times, you couldn't allow yourself to succumb to fear. When you're scared, you can't think straight and when you can't think straight, your odds of dying go way up.
The human animal is nothing if not adaptable and I'm betting you would have done just fine too. Don't sell yourself short or make more of what we did than there really was.
10-4 on that. However, when I think back to some of the stuff I did at 18.....sometimes I just shake my head.
