Just give the smaller companies a shot, do not be scared off by those who say they are just the majors sloppy seconds. I planted a small company that sources most of their genetics from Dupont and beat Pioneer across my whole farm at $80 less a bag.
Just remember when a major company picks a hybrid it has to work all across the country. When your regional company picks a hybrid they only care if it works in your area.
