Cambridge, southwestern Nebraska | I usually increase population from a late April planting date to a late May planting date. I have no reason to do so but feel the later cron will not collect as much sunlight to place as large of an ear so I need more ears to maintain yield. Also, "here", our later planted corn will usually withstand drought better so I feel a little more confident to up the population.
I'm taking about a 10% increase or less. |
