Hi all. Just another few pics if you dont mind. I'd been planning an building a set of helical grates for a while, but never got the time. It finally got the best of me, so I found a spare set of keystock grates from a neighbor that just traded 3 1680s for 2 8010s. He gave them to me, so the price was certainly right.;-) Thanks Brian.

I then took them to Steve's Machining, which is where I get most of my stuff cut out and machined. Jay over there is one heck of a fabricator. I hope he stays on there till retirement. Anyway, I gave him the grates with instructions of what I wanted and he went to work. He knocked off all the keystocks and made the new inserts. Even put the circumference curvature in with the plasma program. Pretty cool indeed. He made a jig to hold them in place while he worked on them so they would still fit when he was done.

Here's the pics of the grates. I cant wait to get this combine to the field this year. Stupid hydraulics still dont work though.;-(
