We use it to breakup the alfalfa/corn silage rotation:
Alfalfa 3 or 4 - corn 2 - Soybeans 1 - corn 2.
Is it the right thing to do? Not sure. Small grains don't grow well here. If I had more tile I would probably just up the alfalfa acres and quicken the rotation.
