One of the most subjective things I was ever attempted to be taught.
>
That reminded me of livestock judging back in FFA. We had to judge frame and score on 3 groups of cattle at Districts(if I remember correctly). They ran in the first group of 4 large frame Simmental spotted cattle, so I put down L1. Second group, 4 large frame simmental spotted cattle, so I put down L1. Third group, 4 large frame simmental spotted cattle, so again I put down L1. I was thinking 'bet they could only find one farmer willing to bring in any cattle to help out the FFA!'. Thankfully all three classes scored L1's. My FFA advisor said 'man that took some guts to put the same answer down all 3 times!' I replied 'That's what they were, Large Frame 1's!'
That day it was easy. Sitting at the sale barn scoring them now takes a little more effort! | |
