Chilliwack BC | Here's a newspaper article on the house.

It was for sale a few years ago and the walk through is still on YouTube.

All we did to the inside is patch cracked plaster, new carpet upstairs, and paint everything. Didn't require much renovation in that regard.
The contractors weren't cheap and by the time we were done, a person could have built new, but you couldn't build THAT house new. I also won't have to touch anything on it in my farming career.
There was peat and logs down over 10 feet when excavating the foundation. The geotechnical inspector said the logs were 5000 years old. I plan to cut them up and hopefully get enough decent wood for some coffee tables.
There is no basement. It's a crawlspace built to the maximum allowable height of about 5 feet. You can't have livable quarters that low on the flood plain. The furnace, ducting and hot water tank are down there.
