ECIL | I do similar for our home. During a weekend I'll grill up 5-6 chicken breasts (cut into halves, two batches with different marinades or seasonings), 12 pork chops (six chops cut into halves, again in two batches), and/or a pork loin or tenderloin. I also brown 2-3 one pound packages of hamburger and at times will make sloppy joes. Or grill up some hamburgers or pork burgers to freeze. They are especially quick to utilize. Put a frozen hamburger patty between the slices of a frozen bun, microwave on high for a minute, add condiments and eat. Pork burgers generally take thirty seconds longer since they are thicker. The browned hamburger is handy for several dishes. Some can be seasoned with taco seasoning before freezing and used for tacos or taco salads. As for the chops or chicken, a couple minutes in the microwave and they are ready to eat.
As for veggies, anything canned or frozen works. For a starch I've been getting rice-in-a-bag. Each is good for two servings.
Stew is another good idea. Freeze in single serving packs. | |
