No with the iPad. Yes with the laptop if you can do a couple things. One, you have to buy (assuming no free ones have shown up in the past few years) and install an ActiveX driver that reads the gps stream. Two, you need to write a VBA macro to pull the info from the ActiveX driver. If you do this from an Excel form, you can automate everything so your operator doesn't have to know Excel. Just type the weight in, click an okay button and the locations and time stamp will get entered into a list.

This is fairly serious macro writing if you haven't done this sort of thing. I had done something similar a few years ago, and managed to have some non-computer people use it.

The reason the iPad won't work is the VBA stuff isn't available on the Mac versions of Excel.
