ncia | boone, I've borrowed and used a 512 here in north iowa. for us and our conditions it worked well and the one I used left the soil fairly level.Biggest problem is if it gets wet the back gang will plug under our conditions and soils. A lot. Ahead of soybeans it is a good tool. I've often thought the sunflower 4411's and 4412's (which are similar) would be better because you can independently raise the back disk gang to alow for conditions. I don't have one of those, either. the cih 875's are the trendly tool lately and do a really great job, but I can grow soybeans without a $65,000 ripper. I suspect some of the 512's have been around long enough that their prices would be getting cheaper. | |
