Sweet corn yields have been exceptional. Running from 8-12T/acre which is very good. Old adage is that our field corn yields typically follow 20bu per ton correlation to sweet corn meaning our field corn should be in the 200bu/acre area.

Great sweet corn yields have caused the canneries to pass over a lot of acres. They took one of my fields but passed on the second-processing can't keep up and they simple won't need all the acres to fill their quotas. Hate to see a perfectly good field go to waste but that's just the risk of growing for a processor. It's always painful to me to see them go in to do a yield check and run down corn to take samples. Goes against the farmer in me, lol.
