For what you're wanting to do Steve, 30 lbs will be plenty. Several guys around seeding cover custom with Hiniker bean planters. If you could disk it, then spread the fertilizer, then run a basket or packer over it, you should be fine as well - if I remember right, this is how Lanty has seeded his the last several years now.
