I have just run spreaders on combines instead of a chopper since 2007, I have had absolutely no problems no- tilling corn into bean stubble, I just run original Martin row cleaners and no coulter on my Deere planter.

One of my favorite things about the spreader is that they are not a power hog, and there is no maintenance to them, no knives to sling off and throw the machine out of balance, and then replace knives in 3's when that happens.
