Easiest way is to start running it and run the air up until you are loosing to much good seed and or the sample is clean to your liking. With oats you might be able to run to much air, but with ours running peas you can probably run maximum air. This is with a worn out super 29d... if yours has been rebuilt you may find different results.

The reason the book isn't clear is that every lot of oats, peas, wheat is different and you have to adjust accordingly. Also it's not like the fans have notches or level indicators so they can't say start at notch 6 for peas as an example.
