I've done it a lot. Not any more. Used to drill it...that stirred up the ground and planted the Roundup ready volunteer corn. Usually not too bad of a problem except on a wet year the corn make too. Dockage at the elevator unless you feed it yourself.
I think planting between the rows no till would be better. Like Mutt said a light grazing to pick up the corn would help.
I've just gone to continuous corn. Makes harvesting easier for us.
