Near-north Ontario, French River | Truth be told the actual corn in the bag is a very small part of the total cost. You could cut the price of seed paid to the grower in half and it might shave $5 of the total cost to produce that bag of seed. Think about it, even at $7 corn paid to the seed grower, assuming 50%clean out at the seed plant ( is that high or low?.) there is less than $10 of actual corn in the bag. |
