I could not disagree more.  I properly engineered and installed wireless link will be at least as fast as a wired link and also eliminates the distance limits of wired ethernet.  I have to emphasize the "properly" part though as I have first hand experience of how frustrating a poorly designed setup can be.  With wireless stuff it seems to be that the easy route probably won't be the reliable route and the reliable route won't be the cheapest route.

That being said, I have no desire to bury Cat 5 or 6 all around my yard with the cost effectiveness of wireless devices these days.
