I would rather have the 5830. 6950 certainly lot more chopper but the electronics scare me on those choppers. cost of repairs is scary on newer choppers. put uplot of feed in a hurry though. kp is pain on 5830 though. seems like everybody has electric issues on the 10 series and enough on the 50 series.

A few days in the shop could have a 6950 running just about as mechanically as a 5830, but with twice the capacity. I don't see what repairs on a 6000 series would be any more scary than repairs on a 5000 series.

If I had to run a Deere chopper built before 2003 and someone gave me a 5830, I'd sell it and buy a 6950.
