The 3x3 square refers to 9 square feet in the field. Samples are adjusted accordingly for 7.5", 15", 30" or in Nebraska / SD furrow irrigated, a few 36" beans show up.

Anything longer than 1/4" is considered a pod for tour purposes. This is held consistent year to year. B
