The people I have seen rip, or even strip till in the spring here usually end up with their crops burnt up if the spring is dry at all. I'm always thinking of eliminating even the spring cultivator pass because it can dry out the top 3-4". Bought a case 2500 inline ripper and going to try just one pass in the fall, no spring, if the thing does like it's supposed to.
