When I had my 1460, one of the best things I did was remove every other wire on the first 2 concaves. Then I bought a set of cover plates and put those on the first 1.5 concaves (3 plates) while doing beans - best of both worlds and easy to take the cover plates off and on.

Edit - also helped with a year with varieties that want to clog up with silks.
