Subject: RE: Drone concerns with air traffic

E.Central MN
After listening to one of the news reports about drones, I wonder if some of the drone operators are thinking that it flies like a plane so lets go practice near the airport which is exactly where planes are dropping in altitude. And on the ground 5 miles away seems like a long distance, however for a plane near an airport its relatively close. There will have to be regulations on how close to air traffic you can fly a drone with penalties involved such as forfeiture of your equipment plus fines if you violate those regulations. They may just be toys, but they can cause serious damage to other aircraft that are flying at higher speeds and have exposed jet engines or propellers, etc.
