Im not going to speak for most of northeast Iowa..... But its drying up fast here in Fayette co. Lighter soils are firing, and beans are shorting up and loosing steam fast!! No rain for the next 5 days.... getting ugly fast. Dark soils are still holding there own, but will be running out of juice week too 10 days.
An hour north west of you, no rain here in next ten days, and take ten percent off the corn yields, more like 30 percent or more off the beans. The next ten days are VERY crucial to maintaining the potential we had. Markets finally building in some risk premium again. No rain ten days from now north of Waterloo, fireworks display should be rather magnificent. Spider mites will be showing up soon. Gotta be real dry before they show up. Only seen them twice in my life.
