| Sometimes damaged corn will react funny when it is damaged. Around here, ears coming out of the tassel shoot is very common in headends where sprayer turns around. I've never personally seen that, but remember from college seeing pictures of different bizarre possibilities of ways corn can react to physical damage. Also, herbicide application or drift at the wrong stage of growth can cause oddities. I've never seen this from it though. Guessing that if it was either of these two issues, I would lean more twords the physical damage. | |
